There are many lodges in Alaska that you can only get to by train or float plane, known as fly-in only. Another great fly fishing hot spot to be found is on Lake Creek which is northwest of Anchorage. This is a great place for catching rainbow trout, pink salmon, and king salmon. Another fantastic place is The Alagnak River. It's only a few short miles from Bristol Bay and has some magnificent tidal waters which is a great breeding ground for some wonderful fish. A fresh crop of fish arrives with each new tide, so your chance of catching a fish, in fact more than one is very high.

You can find some trophy-sized salmon in the Kenai River of Alaska as well as rainbow trout. This stunning river is very accessible thanks to the experienced guides on hand. Finding a guide is not a problem as they are around in abundance. If there is not one at your lodge however, which you need to find out before you arrive, ensure you find out where you can obtain one beforehand and you are advised to book in advance.
